Course objectives

The second module will consist in a series of brief conference simulations.  Each week, two or three of the course participants will give short conference-style presentations to the class which will be followed by an open question and answer session and an in-depth discussion of any lexical, grammatical or pronunciation issues which have arisen.  In addition, we will complete the remaining sections of the coursebook Academic Writing and Presentation Skills for Italian Postgraduates, continuing to review advanced grammar, functions and lexis with a specific focus on EAP.  Assessment will be based on the oral presentation plus a short piece of written work (e.g. a conference paper) to be handed in by the end of the course.
