Course objectives
This course, organized in a workshop format, provides Ph.D. students with the opportunity to develop their speaking and presentation skills. Students will learn to apply a number of strategies for effective speaking in research settings, especially conferences and seminars. During the course, which takes an interactive approach, students will (1) engage in public speaking exercises and group discussions on research in progress, (2) develop an effective approach to planning and preparing research presentations, (3) prepare and comment on visual aids, such as slides with graphics or materials showing quantitative data, (4) prepare and deliver presentations, (5) practice giving and receiving effective feedback, (5) receive coaching to enhance their presentation skills, (6) practice handling Question & Answer sessions.- Oggetto:
